Key Takeaways

• MagicOS tablet windowing logic is counterintuitive; third-party apps frequently stretch or crop awkwardly in floating window modes.
• The eight-speaker setup induces an annoying metallic buzz against the backplate when volume exceeds 75%.
• Overly slim aluminum chassis lacks internal bracing; pressure inside backpacks risks minor permanent bending warps.
• Historically poor software commitment, leaving predecessor tablets abandoned after a single major OS upgrade.

✅ Pros

• Fluid 144Hz 3K eye-care display canvas
• Svelte 5.8mm unibody aluminum profile
• Generous bundled charger and promotional stylus pricing

❌ Cons

• Glitchy multi-window multitasking scaling
• Harsh metallic backplate speaker resonance over 75%
• Slim frame prone to bending warps under bag pressure
• Short software update roadmap commitment

📝 Verdict

"MagicPad 3 has impressive display hardware undermined by buggy multitasking, rattling speakers, and bend risks."

• Channel: Typical Tech Lad | Type: Full review (including stylus, keyboard and extended gaming tests) | Based on: YouTube transcript (WebFetch)

Key points

• Who it's for: big-screen tablet users who mainly watch videos and play games; not for those who rely heavily on extended external displays or a highly customizable interface.
• No charger in the UK box; the keyboard has 1.6mm key travel and a glass trackpad, and the stand adjusts from 110–160°, but pulling out the stand can easily detach the tablet from the magnets, and it wobbles when you tap the screen.
• 13.3-inch 3.2K LCD with a 30–165Hz dynamic refresh rate, 700 nits typical / 1,000 nits peak (the previous OLED peaked at 1,600 nits); YouTube 4K 60fps HDR and Netflix Widevine L1 Full HD HDR10. USB-C outputs 4K 60Hz, but only mirroring, not extending.
• The Magic-Pencil 3 has 4,096 pressure levels and tilt detection with low latency; he rates the eight speakers among the best tablet speakers he's heard, with excellent bass and soundstage.
• Performance: AnTuTu about 1.95 million; 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test best of 5115 with 68% stability; CapCut exported a 5-minute 4K video in just 51 seconds. Call of Duty: Warzone runs smoothly at max settings at about 43°C; Genshin Impact at max settings gets about 50-something to 60fps; Call of Duty: Mobile can reach 120fps.
• Battery life: 1.5 hours of heavy gaming used 34%, and it lasts more than a full day of everyday use; 66W charges fully in about 1.5 hours, with 5W wired reverse charging. MagicOS offers less customization and up to two floating windows; face unlock only.

✅ Pros

• Excellent for watching on the big screen, smooth at 165Hz
• Great soundstage and bass from eight speakers
• Stable performance and thermals, fast video exports
• Long battery life and a good stylus experience

❌ Cons

• Switching from OLED to LCD lowers peak brightness and contrast
• External displays can only be mirrored
• Limited customization in MagicOS, up to two floating windows
• No charger in the box, no fingerprint reader

📝 Verdict

One of the strongest choices among big-screen tablets focused on media and gaming: LCD is a trade-off, but the combination of screen, speakers, performance and battery life is still very appealing.

• Video: This Tablet's Battery Life is Ridiculous | Honor MagicPad 3 Review
• Channel: Tech Spurt | Type: Full review (with the Smart Touch keyboard, used for several days) | Based on: YouTube transcript (WebFetch)

Key points

• Who it's for: big-screen tablet users who travel long distances, binge-watch, and need very long battery life; not for those who prioritize smooth tablet software and long-term OS updates.
• 13.3-inch 3:2 with slim, symmetrical bezels; under 6mm but 595g, so it gets tiring to hold for long periods. The finely textured back shimmers slightly; only gray and white are available.
• No fingerprint reader, but face unlock is very reliable. Ships with Android 15 + MagicOS 9; he notes the tablet's update period isn't as clearly stated as for HONOR's phones. 512GB of storage and little preinstalled software.
• Multitasking allows two or three apps side by side, but there are small glitches such as the top control bar sometimes covering Chrome tabs; he thinks OnePlus's Open Canvas is smoother. The keyboard is comfortable to type on and has a Gemini key, but the stand wobbles and there's no backlight.
• The 3.2K LCD supports HDR10+ with a peak of about 1,000 nits, usable outdoors; it supports IMAX Enhanced and a motion-sickness relief feature. The eight speakers are immersive, but volume and bass fall short of expectations, and there's no headphone jack.
• Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 + 16GB RAM runs Wuthering Waves on high settings almost perfectly smoothly; battery life is excellent — still 10–12 hours of multitasking + streaming at max brightness and volume, with almost no standby drain; 66W fast charging.

✅ Pros

• Extremely long battery life and very low standby drain
• Bright 3.2K big screen; the eye-comfort and motion-sickness relief features are practical
• Enough performance for demanding games
• Large 512GB storage, little preinstalled software

❌ Cons

• MagicOS tablet multitasking has small glitches and isn't as smooth as OnePlus
• Unclear OS update period
• Weak speaker volume and bass, no headphone jack
• No fingerprint reader; not the latest flagship chip

📝 Verdict

The hardware is very convincing: enough performance, very long battery life and a slim body; the software just stutters occasionally, so the overall experience still trails OnePlus's tablet slightly.

• Video: HONOR MagicPad 3 Review - A Fantastic Tablet But Why No OLED?
• Channel: TechTablets | Type: Long-term review (nearly a month of use, with the Magic-Pencil 3 and keyboard) | Based on: YouTube transcript (WebFetch)

Key points

• Who it's for: people who want a big screen for reading PDFs / e-books, handwritten notes and media; not for those who insist on OLED.
• 13.3-inch 3:2 IPS, up to 165Hz, IMAX Enhanced; HDR brightness up to 1,000 nits. He'd rather have kept the previous generation's OLED (even at just 120Hz), and there's some slight shadowing at the edges when viewed at an angle.
• The Smart Touch keyboard is thin and light, good for typing, and the trackpad doesn't jump around, but it has no backlight; the Magic-Pencil 3 has 4,096 pressure levels and accurate handwriting-to-text, with palm rejection kicking in when the tip is about 1–1.5 cm from the screen; the magnet isn't strong enough and it may fall off in a bag.
• He measured 612g (officially 595g) and 5.79mm thick; the eight speakers (DTS:X Ultra) sound great; USB-C supports video output and 66W wired charging. No fingerprint reader, only 2D face unlock, so he recommends using a PIN.
• Performance: AnTuTu about 2 million, 74.2% stability in the 3DMark stress test, with little throttling; very little preinstalled software. Multitasking is limited to two windows.
• Battery life: about 9–10 hours at 120Hz, 11+ hours at 60Hz; 66W charges from 16% to 67% in about 36 minutes and fully in about 75 minutes. Front and rear cameras record 4K 30fps, but 4K clips are limited to 10 minutes each.

✅ Pros

• The big screen is comfortable for PDFs and e-books
• Excellent eight-speaker audio
• Long battery life, fast 66W charging, stable thermals
• Accurate handwriting with the Magic-Pencil 3

❌ Cons

• Switching from OLED back to LCD means worse contrast and blacks
• No fingerprint reader, microSD or headphone jack
• Reuses the previous generation's chip
• Multitasking limited to two windows; 4K recording capped at 10 minutes

📝 Verdict

A tablet he really likes, but one that could have been better: with OLED and a headphone jack it would be nearly perfect; reusing last year's chip actually isn't a big problem.
