Key Takeaways

• Rigid ear hooks clash brutally with eyeglasses temples behind the ear, causing unbearable cartilage soreness after 30 minutes.
• Enormous soap-dish charging case is completely unpocketable and absurdly still omits Qi wireless charging in 2026.
• Gold-plated pogo pin charging terminals tarnish quickly; one bud often fails to seat properly, silently draining battery inside the case.
• Tuning remains excessively bass-heavy and boomy, burying midrange vocals in an indistinct acoustic mud pit.

✅ Pros

• Reliable physical volume rocker and multifunc buttons prevent misclicks
• Rock-solid retention during violent head shaking and sprints
• Instant one-tap pairing with Apple iOS devices

❌ Cons

• Severe comfort conflict with spectacle frames causes cartilage agony
• Gargantuan carrying case lacks Qi wireless charging
• Pogo pins fail easily causing phantom battery drain inside case
• Overbearing boomy low frequencies muddle mid-range instruments

📝 Verdict

"An oversized soap-box case, chronic eyeglass conflict, and boomy bass make this a frustrating sequel."

• Channel: Dave2D | Type: Review | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• Six years after the original, it adds wireless charging, ANC and heart rate sensing in both earbuds, and is lighter and more comfortable.
• The ear tips have switched to softer silicone, with similar comfort.
• The sound is typical Beats style, which the reviewer likes.
• Noise cancellation for constant low-frequency noise is about 8/10, but it's weaker against sudden noises like clapping.
• Turning on heart rate monitoring drains the battery noticeably faster; the price stays at US$250, but there are many workout earbuds on the market that cost US$100 less.

✅ Pros

• Comprehensive feature update, comfortable fit
• Beats-style sound
• Fixes the old model's connection issues

❌ Cons

• ANC isn't strong enough
• Heart rate monitoring drains the battery fast
• Uncompetitive at US$250

📝 Verdict

For most people, the heart rate sensor isn't worth such a high premium.

• Channel: Marques Brownlee | Type: Review | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• The reviewer makes an exception and cites the briefing: Beats ranks near the top in global earbud sales.
• Active noise cancellation has been added, and the reviewer thinks US$250 earbuds can't go without it; iCloud auto-pairing is convenient.
• The sound is lively and fun, not aiming for a flat tuning.
• A built-in optical heart rate sensor, whose accuracy remains to be seen; working out daily for a week, there was almost no need to worry about battery.
• The previous model has dropped to about US$150, but it still uses Lightning, has no wireless charging and has a bulky case, so the reviewer no longer recommends the old model.

✅ Pros

• Lively, enjoyable sound
• Newly added ANC and Apple ecosystem integration
• Reassuring battery life

❌ Cons

• Heart rate accuracy is unknown
• US$250 isn't cheap

📝 Verdict

These Beats are really good and may be the best earbud choice for most people.

• Channel: This is Tech Today | Type: Review (Beats provided a sample and briefing travel) | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• Beats provided an early sample and travel to a briefing in New York, with no payment and no editorial control.

• More tasteful tuning than previous Beats
• Complete microphone setup for calls and noise cancellation
• Secure fit during workouts

❌ Cons

• Peaks and boxiness in the treble
• Sound is highly dependent on the ear tips
• Not a low-profile design; the reviewer prefers other models when traveling

📝 Verdict
