Key Takeaways

• The quad-curved screen edges trigger frequent accidental palm touches, disrupting scrolling and pausing videos unexpectedly.
• MagicOS heavily mimics iOS in its control center and icon behavior, lacking a distinct brand identity or design soul.
• The massive circular camera island is bulky and tilts the phone heavily, easily scuffing its outer metallic ring on tables.
• The telephoto camera applies heavy-handed noise reduction at night, wiping out natural textures into smudgy watercolor patches.

✅ Pros

• Oasis eye-comfort display with ultra-high PWM dimming
• Silicon-carbon battery delivers phenomenal battery life
• Consistent and sustained gaming performance

❌ Cons

• Frustrating accidental palm rejection along screen edges
• Derivative software UI lacking uniqueness
• Overly gargantuan camera island
• Aggressive watercolor noise reduction in night zoom

📝 Verdict

"HONOR Magic9 has stellar battery life and eye-comfort features, but palm touches and derivative software hold it back."
